We were tired of training and racing with suboptimal endurance drinks, so we made our own.

For years we trained with drinks that don’t have the right carbohydrates or enough electrolytes to replace what’s lost in hot conditions. Tempo 2.0 contains a research-supported carbohydrate ratio of .8:1 Fructose:Glucose ratio for maximum energy absorption without gut distress. Research has shown that this is a perfect blend of carbohydrates for faster absorption and maximum energy production.

With the right Fructose:Glucose ratio your muscles will be able to utilize more carbohydrates leading to higher energy output. Many leading brands do not have the proper ratio. This will put a limit on how much your gut can tolerate, leading to decreased performance and G.I. distress.

Your G.I. tract can only absorb 60g of glucose per hour, and many leading brands only include glucose or maltodextrin as their carbohydrate source, limiting gastric emptying and energy absorption.

In 2023 Mark raced the Silver State 508 and ended up hospitalized with hyponatremia and rhabdomyolysis. This was likely due to underconsumption of sodium while using name-brand sports drinks. That experience was the catalyst needed to create a better product that could take him further, faster.

Most endurance athletes do not come close to matching their fluid or electrolyte losses during exercise, causing them to suffer through the latter half of training sesisons and races. Tempo 2.0 contains a healthy dose of sodium to keep you hydrated and combat cramping even while exercising in the toughest conditions. Most leading supplement companies have far too little sodium in their drink mixes.

In addition to not providing enough sodium, many expensive mixes add unneccessary minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium to their mixes that studies show you do not need to replace. Stop paying for extra fluff that the expensive companies add to their overcomplicated products. Keep it simple with sodium.

Objectively Better Electrolyte COntent

One of the main reasons we created Tempo 2.0 was because we were frustrated with the electrolyte content of other brands. Most leading brands either contain far too much sodium that’s unneccessary for cool days or too little sodium for tough conditions. Our 580mg of sodium per 60g serving is right in the sweet spot to adequately replace sweat loss for salty sweaters in hot environments and not too much so that it won’t bloat you on colder days.

Additionally, it is unneccessary to replace potassium, calcium, and magnesium during endurance exercise because concentration of these minerals in sweat is so minute. Don’t pay for what you don’t need.

About the founders

Mark Kolding M.S.

Mark has been an endurance athlete for most of his life, competing in a variety of events from 5k’s to 508-mile bike races. He worked his way up to the professional field in triathlon before burning out and finding a love for ultra-distance cycling events. After getting heat exhaustion multiple times and winding up in the hospital with rhabdomyolysis and hyponatremia during extreme bike rides, Mark realized he needed a better way to fuel his body during racing and training.

On his quest to challenge himself and travel farther on two wheels he experimented with various fueling techniques, but finally came to the conclusion he needed to make his own sports nutrition that could go the distance. After years of experimentation and research acquiring his masters degree in exercise physiology, he settled on a simple approach that was scientifically backed to provide everything the body needs during endurance exercise and none of the extra gimicky fluff that most name-brand supplements have.

What he settled on was Tempo 2.0. The most simple, effective fueling system on the market.

Cory Schiltz

Cory has been hooked on endurance athletics since he finished his first triathlon at the ripe young age of 11. Growing up beachside and competing in lifeguarding events and cross country/track and field through high school, triathlon was a logical next step and became more than just a hobby or sport, it was a passion and a way of life. Given the opportunity to compete for San Diego State Univeristy’s triathlon team, Cory spent 4 years training at an elite level with the upper echelon of endurance athletes while completing his bachelors degree in exercise science.

After graduation Cory delved into all different athletic fields from crossfit competitions to marathons, mountain bike races to Ironman triathlons. The singularity between all sports was fueling and nutrition, but after nearly 20 years of Powergels and Preworkouts, Cory’s gut struggled to fuel the way he needed to. Thats why he partnered with his long-time training partner, Mark, to create Tempo 2.0. A tried and trusted endurance fuel that was easily digestible and effective in its purpose.
